Aundria Adams is a writer, speaker, and advocate for survivors of therapy abuse and complex trauma. She earned a B.S. in Marketing and Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and spent a decade working in advertising and brand development before shifting her focus to writing and survivor advocacy.
Aundria’s memoir, Wire Monkeys, draws from her six-year experience with a therapist later convicted of fraud. Through this project, she examines the hidden power dynamics within therapeutic relationships and explores the resilience required to reclaim one’s life after betrayal. Her essays have appeared in publications including Midwifery Today and The Bookends Review, and she has been featured as a guest on the podcasts Psycho Therapy and I Choose Happy.
As part of the #TherapyToo movement, Aundria works to amplify survivor voices and bring attention to the hidden harms within the psychotherapeutic setting. Her commitment to ethical mental-health practices along with narrative storytelling, challenge harmful systems and expand public understanding of therapy abuse. In addition to her writing, Aundria trains trauma survivors to speak about their experiences with confidence. Her work centers on amplifying marginalized voices, fostering community, and helping others reclaim agency through story.
Wire Monkeys is Aundria’s debut memoir.
